~Glendalines Lover~

The rain and darkness has set in tonight
The cats are scowling at each other in fright
The Little Cottage down in the moors
Glendaline and her lover live behind closed doors
But oh how the storm rides by
Will Someone Live? or someone Die?
The rain patters on the window pane
Through the window Glendaline's lover walks down the lane
She tries to remove the dark blotted stain
But only can remember all her pain
To the kitchen she pulls a knife
Thinking of her wretched life
The moments tick by her anxiety running high
The memories and voices she wants them to die
Her lover oh how handsome is he
Like a rider on a horse, he runs full and free
The ladies love to watch and stare
But why now should she care?
Attention seeker he seems to be
If only he could only see
I know the truth he needn't lie no more
Tonight I will end the war
The battle in me will reside
And peace in my heart will abide
He walks around the cottage bend
It's too late to pretend
Standing at the door she awaits him there
She looks up at him with one last stare
A moment of pleasure a moment of fear
She feels his presence very near
The door opens he looks around
No movement, no one no sound
A warm lit fire in the cottage that night
Suddenly with all of her might
Whilst he calls out her name
She feels she is not to blame
The knife is cast in his heart
Hence where all the pain did start
His horrid eyes she could see
An end for him, she was set free
The blood from her heart stained her dress
For he was finally put to rest
In her arms did he lay
On that dark and dismal day
His eyes looked in her's
You weren't the only
Without me you'll be sad and lonely
Shhhh! My dear your denial is a shame
For this you are to blame
Whence before the morning due sets
With all of this'll forget
The evil live and then they die
Close your eyes and I'll say goodbye
His eyes did close for the last time

The clocks body did chime
She popped his head down on the floor
And shut the small cottage door
There he lay in sleep forever
His memory she will sever.
