Religious Poetry
I woke up this morning to get on with my day
I was thinking as I was travelling on my way
How wonderful Jesus can really be
He woke me up this morning so I could see
People are always hurrying along life's span
Not knowing that their lives are in God's plan
They are never fully satisfied life
Without God they wonder why their life is full of strife
But I really have a lot to be thankful for
When I knock I know Jesus will answer the door
He will always abide with me
So I remember when I bend down on my knees
To thank God for all he has done
He is my number one

Thanksgiving
For joy and merry making
A time for people to come together
For giving and for taking
A festive, friendly and joyous time
Of the greatness of the day
For through the centuries of the world
Has wondered far away
From the beauty and the meaning
Of a great New Years day
For a new year is a heavenly gift
That only God can give
When we pray to him to bless the year
For as long as we shall live
So as we end a Millennium
And face another year
May we feel the presence
Of a risen Saviour near

My Life
I was walking down a lonesome road
Near a grand old park
I pictured where i'd be a few years from now
Buried alone where it is dark
As I was walking a light shone from up above
A loving voice called my name
It was sent from a dove
From where it came
The voice was so sweet and loving
It turned my life around
Now I'm believing there is a God
That I'm so glad i've found
His name is Jesus oh how sweet the name so dear
I love my saviour when I look upon him his love is clear
He has enough love for everyone the little ones too
It falls on you like the morning dew
Now lord as the tough times come
Please shield me with your loving care
For I'll always believe in you
This promise I will share

My Child
For I'll always be with you by and by
I have so much to share with you
I want you to share with others too
If things may sometimes get you down
Some day's you can only frown
Look to me and I'll comfort you
My child I love you
Don't cry but I will make you smile
For i'll be around for a while
I'll hold you in my loving arms
And keep you safe from all harm
So now I want you to trust in me
The door to heaven is open you have the key

Love one Another as I have love you
May seem impossible to do
But if you will, try to trust and believe
Great are the joys you will receive
For love makes us patient, understanding and kind
And we judge with our heart and not with our mind
For as soon as love enters the hearts open door
The faults we once saw are not there anymore
The things that seems wrong begin to look right
When viewed in the softness of loves gentle light
For love works in ways that are wondrous and strange
And there is nothing in life that love can not change
All that God has promised will someday come true
When we love one another they way HE LOVES YOU

Lean on Me
When you feel down or low
There is one thing you should know
He's got a great source of love he lives above
Accept him today and believe in his ways
You wont feel sad you'll be glad
Do right and not wrong
Because that's the way it belongs
That's the way it should go you should know
Follow him and he will lead
You'll never get lost you'll find your way indeed
He's the compass for your way
He has the answer when you pray
Lean on him and give all your cares
He'll never do you wrong will always be fair
He's calling out to you what you going to do?
He'll wipe away the tears from your eyes
Spread your arms and reach to the skies
Look into his eyes today he leading you a special way
You know you can depend on him
He'll drive away all your sin
Come to me and i'll comfort you
I'll be your comforter through and through.

Christmas
Is sparkling in the moonlight
With footprints indented, of one or two
Walking by the wayside
On Christmas Eve
Everything lay still not a sound to be made
Except the sounds of distant bells in the air
Lights and shops, buildings and streets
Give a beautiful Christmas feel
Of what Christmas is supposed to be?
I see the beautiful lights, cards decorations
Trees, presents food and drink
Houses with all of this in it
But when I look at this
Yes I see Christmas in its full array
But is something missing at Christmas
So people know the true meaning of how
A wonderful saviour was born
How by this beautiful day he set the world free
Became ones friend, helped another afflicted soul
Perishing in the darkness can we comprehend what
Christmas is really about?
I pray you will be with my friends in every way
Be there to guide and bless them when they need
And to be their special friend indeed
Hold them when their world get's tough
Love them when they are feeling rough
Shower them with blessing from above
Send them a dove which is full of love
Be there to guide them through life's path
And protect them from all wrath
So I'll pray you will also send them my blessings too
And I pray that peace love and happiness will abide with you!
